The mission of the South Dakota Multi-Housing Association (SDMHA) is to encourage professionalism
while unifying the rental industry owners, managers, business associatates and community through education and teamwork to
better serve the public needs.

- Committing to strengthen continuing education
- Promoting quality business practices with integrity
- Keeping informed of applicable laws and regulations
- Informing and educating the public about the rental industry
- Enhancing and promoting the rental industry image in the community
Membership Classification
General Members: Shall be individuals, partnerships, corporations or other
legal entities who own, operate, manage, plan, build, and/or develop rental housing, condominiums, cooperatives, and other
forms of multi-family properties in South Dakota.
Associate Members: Shall be those who deal with apartment owners and builders
in allied fields such as architects, lenders, contractors, material suppliers, etc. Associate members shall be entitled to
all the rights and priveleges of a General Member except for the right to vote, to hold elective office, to hold and interest
in the property of the Association or to use the term " General Member".
Affiliate General Mamber: Shall be a member who is an employee of a General
Member and shall have the right to hold and elective as well as appointive office and to vote in the course of exercising
the duties of such.
Affiliate Associate Member: Shall be an employee of an Associate Member
and shall NOT have the right to vote, hold elective office, or to hold any interest in the property of the
Association.
